At least 35 youth in the Bunkpurugu-Yunyoo district have been engaged by the Assembly to assist in executing some number of projects captured under the Northern Region Small Town Water system (NORST).
In line with their work, they will lend their support in the implementation of the programme by helping dig minor and major pipe lines in the beneficiary communities.
This came to light when the District’s Development Officer, Mr. Duut Nicholas Nangyabit held a brief meeting with the District Chief Executive, Philip Laari to highlight the progress of the programme in the area.
Briefing the DCE, Mr. Nangyabit said that two contractors have been scheduled to work on the project including TBL Resources Ltd, and Construction Dynamics.
He further revealed that whiles TBL is responsible for all distributions, Construction Dynamics has also been assigned to take charge of pump lines and Hardware.
The DCE asked the District’s Works Department to ensure an effective and efficient work on the project, adding that he is earnestly lobbying with NORST authority both at the regional and National level to consider extending the project to both Nakpanduri and Nasuan.
